The client

Since 2019, a global whisky brand had been building up Power Apps solutions for different parts of the business, covering distillery operations, lab testing, business users and more, including its own contracts database app for the legal team.

As the number of apps grew, so did interest in a reconciliation piece: going back over what had already been built, finding similar processes that could be brought together into a more integrated experience, and identifying any gaps along the way.

The challenges

What we delivered

  • ✓An integrated front-end hub, linking every app’s relevant screens by user group (distillery, lab, business, IT and legal) rather than leaving each as a separate silo.
  • ✓An “Active Requests” screen for distillery and lab users, giving visibility over active mature-spirit tanker loads and outstanding samples.
  • ✓A consolidated Microsoft SQL Server database, keeping existing fact tables intact while rationalising the shared layers that link them together.

The outcome

  • ✓A single hub streamlined how staff accessed every app, including shared functionality like label printing and barcode scanning.
  • ✓Consolidated back-end data that’s easier to maintain and build on going forward.
  • ✓Requests between user groups logged directly in the system, replacing hard-to-trace email trails.
